The Company

New England Seafood is an exciting, fast growing business supplying premium seafood to retail and foodservice. Our core purpose is to enhance lives through fish and we pride ourselves on our supply chain integrity, responsible sourcing and high-quality product.

The Role

If you are looking for a fast-paced, constantly evolving business, then New England Seafood is an excellent choice. At the forefront of sustainability within the seafood industry, this is a fantastic opportunity for an expert individual to maintain NESI’s leadership position in its core species by championing and delivering on key sustainability priorities within our aquaculture sourcing and products. The role will have responsibility for ensuring the highest standards of sustainability in all our farmed seafood supplies. You will be expected to work closely with all our partners to explore new opportunities, lead the sustainability approval of new suppliers, develop continuous improvement programs with our suppliers and deliver customers’ aquaculture goals. This role involves international travel.

This position entails:

  • Defining our aquaculture sustainability objectives and delivering our aquaculture sustainability agenda on time against targets.
  • Reviewing and revising our aquaculture sourcing policies and implementing these across our supply chains.
  • Delivering critical pathways and customer requirement for all aquaculture suppliers; monitoring, evaluating and reviewing progress against agreed targets regularly with suppliers.
  • Researching, recommending, and as required project managing sustainability partnership projects in aquaculture, and acting as a lead liaison contact for aquaculture suppliers and customers on aquaculture issues.
  • Providing general sustainability support to all parts of our business and to our customers.
  • Maintaining close relationships with key sustainability and aquaculture stakeholders including Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO), governments, producer groups, and academic institutions.
  • Attending and participating in key national or international events as required.

The successful candidate will have several years of experience within applied aquaculture, ideally at a farm level. Experience and knowledge of key aquaculture issues is critical to this role. You will be a strong team player with the ability to develop relationships and build credibility within the supply base. Also important to this role is the ability to think and act strategically, with an understanding of the implications of international, national and regional policies in relation to the breadth of sustainability and the commercial agenda.

This role will constantly challenge and reward the successful candidate, whilst also providing the tools and training to further their knowledge and growth. If you think you have the experience, drive and commitment required for this exciting position, then we look forward to hearing from you.
